Vision

Equipped is about:

The Gospel

At Christchurch, we want to be a people passionate about God’s saving grace to us in Jesus Christ. Though we don’t deserve it, God sent his only Son to die a sinner’s death for us – he died our death for us, he took what we deserve. Put very simply, there is nothing more amazing than this truth.

Our first priority at Equipped is to never move on from being astounded at this. As a team our hope is that every person that passes through the Equipped group would deepen in their understanding of what it is that Christ has done for them. Practically this is done through through fellowship groups like TableTalk (for the guys) and Tea Party (for the girls), homegroups and when needed Equipped gatherings where we tackle specific issues head on.

The Church

Jesus came, not just to rescue sinners, but to gather sinners. Nowhere in the NT do we see lonerangers, every Christian is connected to a church – Jesus’ Bride, Body, Temple, Flock, and Family. At Equipped we want to be passionate about what God is passionate about. And God is definitely passionate about his church. On the ground this looks like getting students involved in homegroups, gathering together and heading off on weekend aways, getting hooked into some of the clubs and societies within the church and plugging in with some of the many serving teams in the church.

The Mission

Finally, we want to take the message of Jesus into the worlds we inhabit, just as Jesus tells us to. As a church we want to be stirring each other up to love the lost, love the city and in our students case, love their campus. We encourage the Equipped group to throw themselves into living for the good of those around them, and want to help each other in making the most of every opportunity to speak out about the gospel. Throughout the year we run intro to Jesus courses, and give you a chance to invite friends along to hear about Jesus for themselves.

Practically, all this looks like UN|COVERED, visitor Sundays, CX all of which run throughout the year. We also encourage our students to make the most of living and speaking for Jesus on campus through connecting with their University Christian Union.
